How a 500-year-old person understood Web 3.0:
If your grandma asks you about the internet, show her this blog, because it is so simple. So here is the thing, at the moment we know about Web 1.0, 2.0. These are just generations of the internet, yep they exist. A lot of things changed in the last 20 years. If an alien came at that time and saw what we were using the internet for they would create so many memes about us. All of this is changing with the new Web 3.0, with the integration of blockchain to the internet.
This is a short explanation of what each generation of web is built for:
– Web 1.0 was all about reading. Remember all the college students creating blogs for everything. I actually mean everything; this was YouTube for you 80/90s kids.
– This is where the fun begins, the internet as we know it today is called Web 2.0. This was the era of change. Moms, instead of yelling to their children to come inside, started forcing them to go outside. This is the online generation, who used iPhone’s to access the internet to talk to friends and play games. All of this was kind of okay, but all the big companies that provide us with this information also have our information.
– With Web 3.0 this is not the case. This is where the power comes back to the users by implementing the blockchain technology. Let’s say you are a rapper at the beginning of your career. You just made some bangers and uploaded them on Spotify, but you still have to pay some service fees to them as they are making all of this possible. In the Web 3.0 you can create your own record label and sell it directly to your fans. It is kind of what Only Fans wanted to create.
Why do you need it?
“slowly putting my smart pants on”… Web 3.0 derives from decentralized data, AI and machine learning. It is a technology built to make our lives easier, as they are not already. Just as an example, we can take the new technology in cars, which means that the car can talk with you and helps you drive and so on. What I want to say with this is that the command are more on point and have more functions. Not like the fridge that starts beeping when it is not closed, if it is so smart or something, why doesn’t it close by itself.
The features you need to know:
Semantic Web: It improves performance, to generate an accurate search and result. Now you can sing a song you can’t remember, and the search engine will tell you the name of the song.
AI: More brain like search engine, with relevant results. Overall a more intelligent system to help you in everyday life.
Connectivity: The user will find more comfort with the evolution of Web 3.0 because the delivered information will be more refined and connected. All credit goes to semantic metadata.
SAFETY: Web 3.0 is designed to be safer, by incorporating decentralization. This means that “hackers” can not access your information as there is no central data to target. Today if you are making your money on Instagram there is a chance that it will go through maintenance and it can shut down for more hours, giving you a headache as you can’t do anything about it. With Web 3.0 they have to shut down the whole system, every phone,…basically what my 500 year old brain is trying to say is that this is just impossible.
Get on board with all the information provided to you in this blog and take your chance. If you are reading this, you are still early and you can get all the benefits of joining early.
If you are scared to transition to the new technology, I got your back.
Allbum, the all-in-one platform for NFTs and it is a safe environment to transition from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0, as it is a social media platform focused on NFTs and the blockchain. Have the freedom to check it out and experiment with it…maybe you will be the next social media star to take over the world.
